Buy this ink. Buy several. You'll need them!
This ink is used in the Canon MP980. Here's what Canon doesn't tell you. While the printer has six (6!) ink cartridges, if any one of the six is completely out -- even if you are not using that one at the moment -- your printer is dead in the water. Zero, zip, nada.

And no store sells them locally! (At this time, in my area.) So if it's an emergency, you're a goner.

The following do not carry the GY221 in the store _nor_ on their websites (at the time I'm writing this): Best Buy, Costco, Office Depot, Office Max, Target, and Walmart. Staples does not carry it in the store, but it is available on their website. Amazon is your friend. And it's cheaper than Staples. But internet purchases take time to arrive.

So do yourself a favor and avoid the "dead printer syndrome" by buying several now. You'll be glad you did.

In agreement with most other reviewers
Amazon does offer the lowest price on the Canon CLI ink cartridges. But the price for these inks, IMO, are still pretty high, especially considering the size of the cartridges. If MP980's CLI and PGI ink costs decrease in the future (hopefully real soon!), then the rating would definitely increase to 5 stars.

Because I thoroughly reviewed these products (online and in-store) and the associated commentaries, I now know that it's best to order these inks through Amazon (until some other seller offers lower pricing). I will also be sure to keep extra inks on hand;so I never have to experience down-time with my MP980.

I love the Canon PIXMA MP980, and knew beforehand what to expect as far as print quality and associated costs. So I have no complaints about the printer itself (other than its costly inks). But, I do think one gets what they pay for, and I do tend to go for better quality items.

New Ink is great
I recently purchased a Canon MP620 printer, and I couldn't be happier! I upgraded from a "ghetto" lexmark printer that had an "all in one" #1 ink cartridge. I have recently printed several photo-lab quality photos and about 50 pages of documents, and the ink levels have not even dropped a fraction of a percent. These new Canon 221 & 220 ink cartridges are perfect for someone who does a moderate amount of REGULAR printing. These ink cartridges were never designed to provide continuous photo-lab quality print jobs! I have been in the photo industry for years and my mother is a professional photographer, we both agree that these cartridges are the perfect "bang for the buck". Don't waste your money with the refills or knock-offs, they will only cause problems on your nice, quality Canon product!

I know this OEM ink is expensive, but the quality of this ink can't be matched by the NONOEMS. If you care about the quality of your prints, this the way to go. I have used all kinds of after market products, and no matter what they claim about their quality, they just can't compare to oem. I also ended up with clogged print heads and at least 1 trashed printer. Print output with this ink is almost flawless, and [...] bucks is a good price as well.

Never have a problem with cannon ink its the best
Cannon ink is the best, never have a problem with it easy to install and easy to use. Cannon is the best ink to buy for cannon products, I wouldnt mind if it was a little cheaper then they are but well worth the money.

Don't buy name brand... this will do the same job!
I bought these and the e-BK larger black ink cartridges.

Although a few of them seemed to have leaked into their vacuum-sealed packages, I was able to ship them back to the company for replacements. This was fast and easy and correspondence was a breeze.

They have worked wonderfully in my Canon MP780 all-in-one printer/scanner/copier/fax and are an unbelievably inexpensive alternative to the Canon cartridges themselves.

I recommend these. In fact, I plan to buy a lot of them with any extra money I have in case the company stops handling them!!!

Why the Mystery !!???
Can't give this product a good rating because there is NO INFORMATION on the carton OR the cartridge that tells us how much ink is in the cartridge.
I'm surprised that Amazon.com would advertise a product that has no weight and/or volume info on the package.

These work but not for long
This sale was a bit misleading since it states under condition that this product is New. It is not, its a refilled cartridge which originally did not bother me, however, like many refilled cartridges, they dont last like a manufacturers sealed cartridge does. They do work in my printer with no issues, but normally cartridges last me approx. 2 1/2 - 3 weeks with my use, and the first one I used just ran out after less than 1 week. Even with a great low price, this was not a good deal for me. I will go back to the sealed manufacturers ink cartridges.

Printonic generic ink for Canon MX310
WE bought 2 of these ink refills and after about 25 pages it is claiming we are out of ink and the machine will not print. That makes it a very expensive "cheap alternative."

Work fine and inexpensive but poorly packaged and leaky
Four stars as they seem to function well and are inexpensive, but took a star away as my hand got lots of yellow ink on it from the drippy package it was shipped in. Be careful taking the plastic shielding off. The ink pooled up inside and splashed on my hand.

Great deal.
Bought this product taking a chance that it will perform like the expensive kind made by Canon. After getting a little ink on my hands installing the cartridges, I decided to try it out printing color. I was very impressed with the quality of the print. I could NOT tell a difference at all. I would buy this product again.

Good - but ink leaked
Thought this was a great buy, but when I went to open the blue ink it was all over the package and it was a mess cleaning it up and hard to get off your hands. Otherwise the others were great. Maybe something can be done to clear this problem up.

Expensive, but worth it!!
I know this OEM ink is expensive, but the quality of this ink can't be matched by the NONOEMS. If you care about the quality of your prints, this the way to go. I have used all kinds of after market products, and no matter what they claim about their quality, they just can't compare to oem. I also ended up with clogged print heads and at least 1 trashed printer. Photo output with this ink is gorgeous, and the color tones are just right. You also save a few bucks with this 4 pack.

OEM Canon Ink
I moved up to a MP620 from a previous Canon printer. While I'll admit with the previous post that the ink wells are smaller, but they also use less drops of ink than my older model and gives out a MUCH better picture. And if you install the software that comes with the MP620, it will pop up showing a low cartridge, then click the exclamation above the tank, it will give you the part number needed. You can even click the 'about ink' button and will give you a nice large printable list of the ink part numbers.
I'll admit I still use local print shops for large quantities of 4x6 images, but single 4x6 or any other I can print with very pleasing results.
NOTE: The Canon Photo print software gives a more true to life color than either Photoshop or Lightroom. I know something needs to be changed in the Adobe software, but I haven't figured it out yet.

Canon Ink Cartridge
Excellent product. I suggest to readers that you consider using OEM products for printers. I screwed up my Canon printer using an off brand. You may go for some years with no problems using off brands and save some heavy duty money and it will pay for itself. However, if your printer fails early on because of off brand you are a loser. I have a good printer and will just pay the extra dollars. Some of my off brands were empty. Some would not work and the last batch dorked up my printer for good.

Great value with good color selection
In my effort to help my less than computer savvy father find toner for his printer, I turned to Amazon. Even though it came from a sponsored vendor, the cost, shipping and quality are all at a level I have come to expect. Great value, fast shipping, toner is just what we needed without buying the overpriced branded product.

Defective product and non-existent customer service
Buyer Beware!!!
I purchased this product for my Canon MP780 printer and replaced two of the ink cartridges in my printer (the black one and the cyan one) with cartridges from this pack. I then tried to print a black-and-white document, and the results were horrible. All I could see on the page were streaks of black ink. I ran through a couple of cleaning cycles on the printer, and then printed a test page. Guess what -- every cartridge was working fine except for the 2 I had replaced. I tried a couple of other cartridges from this pack, all with the same or worse result.

I contacted 77 Inc after this to ask for a refund, and I never heard back from them. Finally, after a few days of waiting, I contacted Amazon.com and got a refund within a day. I guess the only silver lining here is that Amazon stood by the product sold on their website. As for this seller, I will never do business with them again.

Cost effective and quality replacement for Canon inks
I got tired of trying to refill carts, too damn messy.
These fit, work, the color's fine, and haven't had a bad one yet.

Cheap ink works great
I have always used the ink made by Canon for my Canon printer because I did not want to do anything that might affect the warranty or cause printing problems. However, after the warranty expired, and the printer got to be a couple of years old, I decided that I would try cheaper, compatible ink since it is significantly less expensive than Canon's ink. I figured that, with printers being so cheap, if something went wrong, I'd just get a new printer. So, I bought this ink. The ink cartridges are almost indistinguishable from Canon's cartridges. They installed without any problem. The printer has been printing just fine with them. In fact, what has surprised me is that the colors are brighter than they were using the Canon ink. I haven't had the cartridges installed long enough to be able to tell whether they will last as long (or longer) than the Canon cartridges, and I have no idea whether the prints will last as long without fading. However, for my printing uses, those issues do not really matter. What matters to me is that the cartridges work fine, and I have saved a lot of money by buying them (even if they do not last as long, they will still save money because they are so much cheaper than Canon's cartridges).

Nothing in my Canon Pixma 4000. No ink output whatsoever.
Yeah, great, snapped into the printer just as the OEM's do. But when it's time to print, no ink is fed through my Canon Pixma 4000.

I went to the store and purchased genuine Canon cartridges and voila! Prints fine. At least they didn't wreck the printer while delivering ZERO value.

So for owners of the Pixma 4000 I can say with some reasonable confidence that your joy at having received four cartridges for the price of one will last until you try to print something.

Then you can go to the store and buy the real ones. Total cost will be 125% of retail in the long run.

These might work in another printer, but they sure don't work in mine- and I tried all manner of nozzle checks and cleaning and any other maintenance procedures I could run with the Canon software.

Almost everything went wrong
I ordered two (2) 2-packs (black & color) of inkjet cartridges - not from Amazon itself but from one of the companies they use, Print2000 I think was the name. After 18 days, I emailed them. I don't know if I ever would have heard back from them unless I contacted them. They wrote back that the Post Office lost the package and they'd send another order in 2 days. I did get ONE of the 2-packs in 2 days from the Post Office. The color cartridge package was partly crushed, but the cartridge seemed OK. But the company forgot that I ordered two 2-packs. I called them and they apologized & said they'd send out another 2-pack immediately. I got that in a few days and the black ink cartridge box was partly crushed. I can't recommend Print2000 to anyone with that experience.

works just fine
This ink works as well as the Cannon ink, but three times less money. The other reviewers are right, wear rubber gloves when opening and installing the tanks. It's not but a drop in a couple of the packages, but printer ink stains deep and bright. The drop or two in the package does not affect the ink's performance. Try it, you'll like it.

I was skeptical because of the inexpensive nature of this product. But these cartridges went in my printer without a hitch and I had no problem with excess ink coming out.... will definitely use this product again!

This Canon Selphy photo ink and paper set provides excellent 4" x 6" photos and is very easy to use.

Love Canon Selphy, but new paper is not "Postcard" anymore
I have multiple Selphy Printers. I really enjoy them, but was disappointed to find the latest iteration of the paper kit no longer has the postcard printed on the back. Just the words "Canon". Otherwise, an excellent product.
